The un-planning app for EV road trips.

The trouble with EV route planning apps is that they require planning.

Miles To Go is an iPhone app that tells you what you need to know to stop when you want to stop. How many miles to the next good charger? And the one after that? Should we stop here, or keep going?

Charging options along a drive: 38, 112, 151 and 236 miles from the start, with the gap to the next one between each. You 38 mi then 74 mi 112 mi then 39 mi 151 mi then 85 mi 236 mi

All the good options.

America’s highway charging infrastructure has taken a huge leap, but the existing tools are designed for scarcity. Route-planning apps and in-car navs suggest stops, rather than present options. But now that many highway routes have chargers every 10 miles, or at least every 30, planning ahead is no longer required. We have the infrastructure to be spontaneous.

Choosing a route from New York to Lake Placid, with 37 charging options along the way

Every charger gets three grades

  • Charger

How many stalls, how fast, and how reliable.

  • Amenities

    Food, coffee, restrooms.

  • Detour

How far off the route it really is.

Miles + Maps = Good Choices

Scroll through the options before leaving home. On the road, the distance to the next good charging option is big enough to read at a glance: how many miles to go, what’s there, and what comes after. Skip the chargers you don’t want, change your mind once or twice. Know the alternatives, and have the confidence to roll in at 5%.

Miles To Go isn’t a navigation app. When you’ve chosen a charger, one tap hands it to Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze.
